Marino & Maria

Dear Expectant Birth Parent,
I would like to start by saying Thank You for taking the time to get to know us better. I am sure you will have many decisions ahead of you. We wish you the best throughout this process. We admire your courage in this selfless act to make an adoption plan for your child. If we are fortunate to be the adoptive family that you choose for your child, we want you to be at ease and know that we will love him or her unconditionally. We will also provide your child with a safe home with many opportunities for him or her to grow as a confident individual. This child will become our first priority and we will provide a nurturing, loving, positive and stable environment for your child.

About us:
Our families are very important to us and are a significant part of our lives. They are extremely supportive and share our joy and the expectation of getting to know and can’t wait to share their love with the special child that will become a part of our family. We are so grateful to have all of our family and friends who are so excited and are praying and wishing us well in this whole adoption process. They know of all the struggles we had in trying to conceive our own child naturally and with fertility treatments which none were successful. Once we made the announcement we chose adoption to build our family each one of them was so happy for us and can’t wait to meet him or her.
How we met:

We had the same circle of friends being that both our parents came from the same small home town in Italy. From time to time in College I met Marino and saw him and here and there at outings, parties and a wedding. We both attended his best friend’s wedding since we both know his friend Dominic who was getting married. The night of the wedding I got a chance to speak to Marino and from then we went on a few dates. I feel it was destiny that we got together. From that date we went our separate ways and met up again in 2002 where our mutual family friend Dominic told me that Marino would like to go on a double date. We went to dinner and from that point on we started dating and kept getting closer. We got engaged in Canada in October 2002 and were married in September 2003.

A little bit more about us:
Marino is 6 feet with brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. He was born in Italy and came to America at around 2 years old. He is so sweet and genuine. I think that is why kids love Marino and they play and warm up to him rather quickly. He has 2 brothers, Val and Ernie and has 4 nephews and 2 nieces. He is very close to his family. His mother does not live far and we visit her once a week and of course for all family events and holidays. His parents had a very nice marriage. They did everything together. Marino’s dad passed away a number of years ago so Marino is very helpful, protective and caring towards his mom.

Maria is 4’11” and has brown hair and big brown eyes. She is Italian-American born in America. She has one brother. Maria and her family are so close knit and loving and they share many laughs together. Maria’s mom and dad are married 55 years and live only 10 minutes away in a nice quiet development with a big yard. We see Maria’s side of the family very often.

What we are looking forward to:
We most look forward to the chance of growing our family through adoption and sharing our love with a new child. We cannot wait to read to them, go to their school functions and games, and help them with their homework and everything else they are a part of. Even the little things like bringing them shopping to help pick out their clothes and spending weekends together: Making breakfast together, Marino can play soccer we can take the child to the movies, the park etc. we hope and dream of this becoming reality someday soon.
Family and Friends mean the world to us and help make us who we are. Both our families are so excited to welcome with open arms a new addition to our family. We have cousins that have babies and friends that have young kids so they will be able to play and interact with children etc.

Our goal as parents:
We would like to do everything we can to help our child succeed and become very confident individual. We hope to teach him or her morals and right from wrong and to be kind to others and themselves and have respect. We realized there will also be challenges to be parents, we believe that as long as we provide a loving and supportive home, our child will grow up secure, stable and be successful in whatever they choose to do in life.

Our home:
We moved in one month after we got married in October 2003. Our home has 3 bedrooms, a living room, one bathroom, kitchen and a basement. We have a really nice fenced in flat backyard (which we get compliments on since it is cozy). Our neighborhood is quiet and close to schools and a park and restaurants. The schools are very good. We like to decorate are home and to hold holiday dinners and birthday parties and family gatherings.

Thank You:
We are so happy and excited to be on this journey. We have witnessed adoption several
times in our own families and to find ourselves on this path feels right to us. All of our family and friends are excited for us. We are ecstatic that our families will share and experience this beautiful event by our sides. We promise to provide a safe, cozy and loving home for your child. He or she will be our first priority and we will do all that we can to ensure that your child will grow up having every opportunity possible.

It is hard to put our feelings of gratitude and love all on paper. We hope that by sharing a little bit about ourselves you have a better picture of us and what kind of life we hope to provide for the child who joins our family through adoption. You are giving someone the gift of life, and someone else a child to love. That right there is the greatest gift you could ever give. We respect and admire you. When you honor the birth family, you honor the child. You will always have a special place in our hearts. We want to thank you so much for reading our profile and learning about us.
