Some fun times…

Family – Family is very important to me. We are very close. My brother, parents, nephew and I are celebrating my father’s birthday here. My parents, brother, and aunts and uncles live only a few miles from my home. We see each other often. We especially love birthdays and celebrating together with cake!

Being Silly – This is a picture of my nephew and me. I am wearing a hat he made at school. I spend as much time as possible with him. He is 6 years old and has many interests that I enjoy learning about. He loves sports so I often find myself playing basketball, football, or baseball. He enjoys reading to me. I know that he will love to read to a baby, too.

Teaching – I love being a teacher! It’s a challenging, yet rewarding career. This was taken at an end-of-year ceremony for my students. I feel fortunate to be able to spend my days with kids. Teaching also affords me summers off so I can be home with a child.

Ice Festival – There is an annual ice festival in my town. It is one of my favorite events of the year. Last year, this giant chair was sculpted in the middle of downtown. I often go to live carvings. There are many community events associated with the festival, including a parade and horse and carriage rides. I can’t wait to share this wonderful experience with a child.

Friends – My friends and I had a cookie exchange during Christmas season and this was taken there. Most of my friends have children and being a part of their lives is so important to me.

Tennis – I am an assistant high school girls’ tennis coach. Here is our team after winning a state medal. Watching how the girls develop and seeing their dedication and hard work throughout the season is extremely inspiring for me.
